Orbit
Build self-awareness and turn feedback into focused development with Orbit, Edstellar's AI-empowered 360-degree feedback tool.
- Collect anonymous feedback across rater groups
- Get AI-drafted reports reviewed by Edstellar experts
- Track development from one feedback round to the next
Every angle of feedback, from 45 to 360 degrees.
Orbit runs 45, 90, 180, 270 and 360-degree feedback. Choose who rates for each engagement, and the orbit widens to match.
360-degree feedback
- Who gives feedback
- Self, line manager, peers, direct reports, skip-level manager and external stakeholders
- Suited to
- Leaders and people managers, where the view from their team and from outside matters most, such as leadership and high-potential programs.
Every angle uses the same secure survey and the same Edstellar consultant review before release. Anonymous groups keep their minimum, and the line manager's rating is shown as its own line.
One 360 with a home for every role.
Admins, raters, assessees and Edstellar consultants each get a view built for their part of the 360, and all of it meets in one report.

Honest feedback starts with anonymity built in.
Raters speak freely when they know their words cannot be traced back to them. Orbit protects that at every step, and an Edstellar consultant checks it again before release.
- Left of the handle What one rater wrote, seen by Orbit and the consultant only
- Right of the handle What the assessee reads in the report
Each rater group has a minimum, three recommended. A group below it is combined with others or left out.

What the rater wrote: Sophie Laurent, a peer, rated communication 4 of 5 and wrote: When we ran the Lisbon client workshop together last March, Ben explained the pricing model so clearly that the client signed that week.
What the report shows: Peers, group average of 4 raters, communication 3.8. Theme, explains complex ideas: Explains complex models so clearly that clients act on them quickly.
One 360 is a snapshot. A series shows the change.
Run Orbit monthly, quarterly, every six months or yearly. The framework locks after round 1, so every round compares like with like, for each person and for the whole cohort.

What is Orbit?
Orbit is Edstellar's AI-empowered 360-degree feedback tool. It collects anonymous feedback from up to six rater groups, drafts each report with AI, and has an Edstellar consultant review every report before the person receiving feedback sees it.
Who reviews the AI-drafted reports?
An Edstellar consultant. They check each draft against the raw scores, remove comments that could identify a rater, refine the summary and development plan, add their own notes, and then approve and release the report. A released report can also be revoked.
How does Orbit protect rater anonymity?
Ratings appear only as group averages, never by name. Each rater group has a minimum number of raters (three is recommended), and groups below the minimum are combined with others or suppressed. Written comments reach the report as themes and quotes with no names or roles attached. Because a line manager is usually a group of one, the manager's rating appears as its own line in the report.
Who can give feedback in an Orbit 360?
Up to six rater groups: self, line manager, peers, direct reports, skip-level manager and external stakeholders such as clients, vendors and partners. Each assessee can have up to 10 participants, self included.
Can Orbit run 180-degree or 270-degree feedback?
Yes. Orbit runs 45, 90, 180, 270 and 360-degree feedback. Choose the rater groups for each engagement: a self-assessment for a 45, the line manager alone for a 90, self and line manager for a 180, self, line manager and peers for a 270, or all six groups for a 360.
Can we use our own competencies and questions?
Yes. Choose from the competency pool, each with behavioral items, add your own competencies and items, include skills rated on a proficiency scale, pick a rating scale from 3 to 10 points or set custom labels, and add your own open-ended questions for all raters or for one group. Orbit offers 16 ready use cases, and you can add your own.
What does the assessee receive?
Once the report is released, the assessee sees their strongest area, blind spot and hidden strength, their scores next to how others rated them, themes from written feedback, a development plan linked to Edstellar programs and a note from their Edstellar consultant, with a PDF to download.
