Program Overview: What is Apache Cassandra?
Apache Cassandra is an instructor-led program for database and platform teams running distributed data at scale. Participants learn Cassandra's peer-to-peer architecture, gossip protocol, and partitioning, then master query-driven data modeling with CQL. Across 24 hours and six modules, the training covers consistency tuning, replication, multi-datacenter deployment, performance tuning, and production operations.
Every module pairs live instruction with guided labs on a real multi-node cluster learners configure themselves. Instructors coach teams through three-node setup, nodetool health checks, CQL modeling with partition keys and clustering columns, and tunable consistency, with feedback on each build. Learners practice replication strategies, hinted handoff and read repair, compaction tuning, and backup workflows. The program closes with a five-hour capstone where each team builds a distributed data platform for a retail workload, then load-tests it and documents an operational runbook.
Without these skills, teams run Cassandra like a relational database: hot partitions, unbounded tombstones, and cascading failures during repairs. This program replaces guesswork with deep understanding of the write path, consistency levels, and rack-aware replication. Graduates tune consistency for the workload, run repairs safely, and keep multi-datacenter clusters available under failure.
They build a multi-datacenter Cassandra cluster and load-test it until it complains. Distributed systems judgment is earned this way, yours comes pre-earned.
Six modules and 24 hours: cluster setup, data modeling and CQL, consistency tuning, replication and high availability, performance tuning and operations, and a multi-datacenter capstone. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each technique is practiced. It closes with a capstone the team plans, builds, secures, and load tests. Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar. Cohorts train as one group or split into batches, with session materials and lab guides included for every participant.

Operate Cassandra Clusters With Query Modeling and Tested Resilience
Edstellar helps data teams connect distributed database design with the behavior of a Cassandra cluster. Participants model queries, tune consistency, manage replication and node changes, and practice recovery. A multi-datacenter build brings the work together, with review of load tests, data-integrity evidence, and the operational runbook.
- Step 01
Consult
We review distributed-data responsibilities to identify needs in cluster setup, CQL models, consistency choices, replication, node lifecycle, and recovery procedures.
- Step 02
Plan
We connect Cassandra architecture and data modeling with read-write behavior, replication, and operational tuning before building and documenting a complete distributed platform.
- Step 03
Align
We align instruction with data engineers, platform staff, and SREs, introducing NoSQL concepts while keeping test-cluster operations and consistency assumptions explicit.
- Step 04
Customize
We tailor activity-feed models, node-load scenarios, and recovery drills to familiar workloads while preserving checks on data distribution, replication, and snapshot integrity.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants model tables, tune consistency, and test repair and restore procedures, receiving feedback on observed data behavior, operational sequencing, and evidence from load tests.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the cluster for suitable query models, justified consistency settings, tested replication and recovery, and a runbook that clearly addresses the demonstrated operational risks.
