Program Overview: What is Circular Economy Fundamentals?
Circular Economy Fundamentals is Edstellar's instructor-led foundation program for professionals new to circular thinking. Participants learn circular economy foundations, circular design, and circular business models from the ground up. Material flow analysis, lifecycle tools, circular operations, value chain loops, metrics, and reporting complete the introduction.
The program builds understanding through doing. Participants trace material flows, apply lifecycle tools to familiar products, and map value chain loops in guided exercises. Instructors lead six modules across 24 hours at a pace that assumes no prior background. Every concept lands through a practical application, so fundamentals stick as usable knowledge rather than vocabulary.
Teams asked to 'do something on circularity' usually stall at the jargon stage, everyone has heard the terms, nobody knows where to start. This program gives them the start: a clear mental model of how circular systems work, the basic analytical tools, and the confidence to apply both. Participants return able to contribute to circular initiatives instead of watching from the sidelines.
The capstone is a circular transition roadmap for the participant's own organization, staged, realistic, and grounded in the tools learned. Everyone leaves with a first draft of 'where we go from here,' which is exactly what fundamentals training should produce.
Six modules and 24 hours: circular foundations, circular design and business models, material flow and lifecycle tools, circular operations, circularity metrics and disclosure, and a capstone transition roadmap. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each technique is practiced. It closes with a capstone roadmap the team plans, drafts, and presents.
Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar. Cohorts train as one group or split into batches, with session materials and lab guides included for every participant.

Turn Circular Economy Principles Into Practical Product and Material Decisions
Edstellar helps teams connect circular design with material flows, operational loops, and measurable transition priorities. Participants examine product lifecycles, develop take-back concepts, and select circularity indicators using guided cases. Their roadmap brings these decisions together for review of assumptions, value-chain feasibility, and the evidence needed to track progress.
- Step 01
Consult
We review product and material responsibilities, waste challenges, and lifecycle knowledge to identify gaps in circular design, loop planning, and measurement.
- Step 02
Plan
We introduce the 9R hierarchy and circular business models before lifecycle mapping, take-back operations, circularity metrics, and a transition roadmap.
- Step 03
Align
We align circular economy facilitation with sustainability, procurement, product, and operations roles, making material-flow analysis accessible to different levels of experience.
- Step 04
Customize
We tailor product canvases, lifecycle maps, and collection scenarios to relevant material streams, using sample assumptions where operational data is unavailable.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants map lifecycle hotspots, design remanufacturing loops, and build dashboards, receiving feedback on intervention logic, operational dependencies, and indicator selection.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the transition roadmap for evidence-based priorities, coherent material loops, explicit baselines, and milestones that make proposed progress reviewable.
