Program Overview: What is UAE PDPL Compliance?
UAE PDPL Compliance is Edstellar's instructor-led program for legal, compliance, and data teams operating under the UAE Federal Personal Data Protection Law. Participants work through lawful bases, data subject rights, controller and processor obligations, cross-border transfers, breach response, and DPIAs. The aim is simple: data practices that survive regulatory scrutiny.
Training is hands-on across 24 hours and six modules. Teams work guided case studies on lawful basis mapping, data subject request handling, and controller-processor contracts, building DPIAs and breach playbooks with instructor coaching at every step. Every exercise gets direct feedback, so participants learn to justify each compliance call the way a regulator would test it. The program closes with a five-and-a-half-hour capstone: a full PDPL compliance readiness assessment of a simulated organization.
Companies often collect personal data faster than they govern it: consents are assumed, retention is indefinite, and breaches expose the gaps. This program teaches your team to run personal data protection deliberately, from lawful basis to subject rights and breach response. They return with practices that make PDPL compliance a steady state, not a crisis response.
In the capstone, each team inherits a simulated organization with messy data practices: unlabeled datasets, unsigned processor contracts, a dormant breach procedure. They map the personal data, fix the lawful basis gaps, draft the transfer safeguards, and present their readiness verdict to reviewers who argue the regulator's side. The artifact they carry out is a reusable readiness checklist, tested against the toughest questions in the room.
Your team works through the obligations that matter most in enforcement: transparent notices, valid consent, cross-border transfer conditions, and breach notification to the UAE Data Office. Sessions focus on your training needs, with collaboration built into every exercise, so privacy, legal, risk, and technology colleagues improve how PDPL compliance works in day-to-day operations. You leave with documentation, templates, and a roadmap that raise organizational performance.

Where this Training Fits in Your Team's learning path.
The UAE's federal PDPL applies across the mainland, outside the DIFC and ADGM free zones. Your team learns general privacy basics first, then this course applies the federal law. The path then moves into running a privacy programme and an ISO 27701 management system.

Design UAE Privacy Workflows With Clear Responsibilities and Documented Risk Decisions
Edstellar connects UAE PDPL concepts with the processing activities, workflows, and governance records that teams need to evaluate. Participants examine lawful bases, individual rights, processor relationships, and transfer or breach scenarios. A readiness program and impact assessment demonstrate whether their privacy decisions are traceable, proportionate, and supported by clear operational ownership.
- Step 01
Consult
We explore personal-data responsibilities and existing privacy processes, identifying gaps in data-flow mapping, lawful bases, rights requests, processor oversight, transfers, and impact assessment practice.
- Step 02
Plan
We establish PDPL foundations and lawful processing choices, clarify controller and processor duties, then connect transfers and breach response with DPIAs and an integrated readiness program.
- Step 03
Align
We align privacy governance expertise with legal, technology, risk, and audit teams, considering their data-handling experience and responsibility for documenting, implementing, or reviewing privacy controls.
- Step 04
Customize
We adapt a fictional business process and sample data flows, allowing lawful-basis assessment, rights handling, and DPIA practice without collecting personal information or exposing actual processing records.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants assess processing scenarios, draft privacy workflow elements, and complete a DPIA, receiving feedback on risk reasoning, responsibility allocation, and the evidence supporting proposed safeguards.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We review the readiness program and DPIA for coherent data flows, justified processing decisions, workable rights and response procedures, and clearly owned actions for unresolved privacy risks.
