Program Overview: What is Assertiveness and Personal Impact?
Assertiveness & Personal Impact is a 16-hour program for professionals at any level who want to communicate with more confidence and influence. Across six modules, participants explore assertiveness foundations, communication styles and self-awareness, assertive techniques, difficult conversations, and stakeholder presence. Each session builds toward a real-scenario showcase capstone drawn from their own toughest conversations.
Training works through six guided practice sessions with experienced instructors, where role plays and practice scenarios replace lecture wherever possible. Participants rehearse assertive speech techniques, structure high-stakes conversations, and practice declining unreasonable demands in realistic workplace scenarios. Coaches give direct feedback on voice, pace, and posture so every learner adjusts in the moment. The program closes with a capstone showcase applying the full toolkit to a real conversation.
Teams without these skills suffer in predictable ways: meetings go quiet, deadlines slip because nobody pushes back, and good people burn out saying yes to everything. This program teaches professionals to tell assertive from passive or aggressive communication, manage self-talk and triggers, and hold their ground without damaging relationships. Learners learn to make clear requests, set boundaries, and stay composed when challenged.
They perform their hardest real conversation live and take structured feedback on it. Difficult conversations get easier when you have already had the worst one in a safe room.
The program blends short technique sessions with intensive role plays and practice scenarios drawn from each team's real work. Participants rehearse the conversations they find hardest, from declining unreasonable demands to pitching ideas to senior leaders. Everyone leaves with a personal action plan that keeps the new habits alive after training ends.
