Program Overview: What is Java?
Java is Edstellar's instructor-led program for developers building backend services and enterprise applications on the Java platform. It covers language foundations, modern Java features and tooling, service development, concurrency and JVM performance, and enterprise deployment patterns across six modules and 24 hours. Participants learn to write Java that performs in production. It is built for backend and full-stack engineering teams.
Training is hands-on from the first module. Participants build services incrementally, profile and tune JVM behavior, and practice concurrency patterns in three guided labs. Instructors coach each developer through code reviews, performance analysis, and debugging, giving direct feedback on every build. Modules progress from language foundations through tooling, services, concurrency, and deployment. It closes with a production-style Java service capstone reviewed by the instructor.
Java code that compiles is not Java code that survives production: teams fight memory issues, brittle concurrency, and services that fail under load. Tutorials teach syntax while production demands performance, observability, and sound design. This program teaches your developers to build Java properly, with the JVM, concurrency, and deployment craft that keeps services running.
The capstone is a production-style Java service: designed, built, load-tested, and deployed by each team, then reviewed against performance and reliability criteria by the instructor. Your developers return writing Java they can defend in a production incident review, with the tooling and tuning habits to keep services healthy.
Six modules and 24 hours: language foundations, modern Java and tooling, service construction, concurrency and performance, and enterprise patterns with deployment. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each technique is practiced. It closes with a capstone build the team plans, codes, tests, and presents.
Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar. Cohorts train as one group or split into batches, with session materials and lab guides included for every participant.
