Program Overview: What is TOSCA?
TOSCA is Edstellar's instructor-led technical program for QA engineers and test automation teams adopting Tricentis TOSCA. Participants master the model-based approach: building modules, designing test cases, and automating UI and API layers without scripting. The curriculum covers synchronization and steering, the API engine, and data-driven testing with test data management.
Training is hands-on in the TOSCA workspace from the first module. Participants install and configure their environment, then build modules and design test cases using the model-based approach in guided labs. Instructors coach your team through UI automation with synchronization and steering, API testing with the API engine, and data-driven execution, reviewing every exercise with direct feedback. The program closes with a capstone where the team delivers an end-to-end TOSCA test portfolio.
Teams new to TOSCA often treat it like their old scripted framework and miss the point entirely. They automate brittle UI paths, skip the model layer, and end up maintaining more than they automated. This program teaches your testers to work the model-based way, so automation survives UI churn instead of breaking on every release.
The capstone is a working test portfolio for a real application flow: modules scanned and modeled, test cases designed around business risk, UI automation with synchronization and steering, API checks through the API engine, and data-driven runs against managed test data. Each team runs its portfolio live and defends its design decisions. Participants return with a portfolio blueprint they can extend to their own applications.
Script-based automation breaks when applications change. TOSCA's model-based approach separates test design from technical details, so tests stay maintainable. This program gives your team practical skill in scanning applications, designing reusable Modules, automating UI and API layers, and running data-driven suites. The guided capstone delivers a complete test portfolio your team can extend after training.

Adopt model-based test automation
QA engineers learn to build maintainable TOSCA portfolios that cut script maintenance and speed up regression cycles.
Workflow friction
- Script-heavy suites break on UI change
- Regression cycles take too long
- Test assets are hard to reuse
How the program helps
- Design reusable Modules with XScan
- Run stable UI and API tests
- Cut maintenance with model-based design
Practice use cases
- UI regression portfolios
- API test packs
- Smoke test lists
Standardize automation practices
Automation engineers learn TOSCA conventions for templates, data management, and execution that scale across projects.
Workflow friction

Develop Model-Based TOSCA Tests Across UI, API, and Data Variations
Edstellar builds TOSCA capability through reusable models rather than isolated automated scripts. Participants scan applications, design test cases, and practice UI and API execution before introducing data-driven templates. A documented test portfolio provides evidence of how well their models support coverage, synchronization, reporting, and continued maintenance as test scenarios change.
- Step 01
Consult
We review software testing knowledge and automation goals, identifying starting needs in TOSCA workspaces, model-based design, UI synchronization, API checks, and controlled test data.
- Step 02
Plan
We establish workspace setup and reusable modules, build model-based UI cases, then add API testing and data-driven templates before assembling an end-to-end test portfolio.
- Step 03
Align
We align TOSCA automation expertise with QA teams, confirming testing foundations and suitable sample applications and APIs for scanning, execution, and test data exercises.
- Step 04
Customize
We adapt sample business workflows and data variations to familiar testing needs, retaining exercises in reusable modules, steering, synchronization, API validation, and external data sources.
