Program Overview: What is SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)?
SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is Edstellar's instructor-led program for project managers, product owners, and delivery leaders scaling agile across teams of teams. Participants master SAFe principles, PI planning, program increment execution, agile product delivery, and lean portfolio management. It serves organizations moving from team-level agile to a coordinated release train model.
Training is scenario-driven across 24 hours, not lecture-heavy. Your team works through realistic planning events, maps dependencies across fictional ARTs, and practices PI planning cadence in facilitated simulations. Instructors coach each exercise with direct feedback on roles, ceremonies, and metrics, correcting misapplications on the spot. The program closes with a 5-hour capstone where the cohort launches its own Agile Release Train.
Scaling agile without a framework usually produces agile theater: standups everywhere, alignment nowhere, and portfolios managed by spreadsheet. This program teaches your leaders to run SAFe with discipline, aligning strategy, funding, and delivery through real PI cadences. Every practice is rehearsed in simulations, so the method survives contact with your organization.
The capstone is a full launch simulation: the cohort plans a program increment, staffs the train, sequences features, and runs the inspect-and-adapt cycle. Your leaders return with a rehearsed launch playbook for their first real ART, not just SAFe vocabulary.
The program blends short teaching bursts with guided labs and a capstone launch plan. Teams leave with a PI planning playbook, a portfolio kanban, and the practiced confidence to run their first Agile Release Train.
