Program Overview: What is Application Security and Secure Coding?
Application Security & Secure Coding is a 24-hour instructor-led program for developers, security engineers, and DevOps professionals. It covers secure SDLC and threat modeling, injection defense, authentication and access control, API and microservices security, and testing with SAST, DAST, and SCA. It ends with a capstone: a secure build and code review of a vulnerable application.
Training is hands-on: participants threat-model an application, then work through guided labs on injection attacks, authentication hardening, API security, and security testing toolchains. The instructor demonstrates each exploit and fix live, then coaches teams as they write and test secure code. Feedback sessions reveal where vulnerabilities hide and how to close them. The final five hours are a capstone: reviewing a vulnerable build end to end and shipping it secure.
Most breaches start in code: injection flaws, broken authentication, and exposed APIs ship because security review happens too late. This program teaches participants to shift security left: threat-model before coding, harden input handling, lock down sessions and APIs, and run SAST and DAST in the pipeline. Teams stop patching production breaches and prevent them at the keyboard.
They have fixed real vulnerabilities across every layer of a broken app, and proven the fixes with scanners. Security-conscious coding is a habit now, not a checklist.
Six modules and 24 hours: secure SDLC and threat modeling, injection defense, authentication and access control, API security, and SAST/DAST/SCA testing. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each defense is practiced on real code. It closes with a capstone where teams review, remediate, and re-test a vulnerable application for instructor review. Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your teams.

Key Skills and Outcomes Your Team Will Gain
Practical application security skills your developers apply from the next sprint: modeling threats, writing hardened code, and operating scanner-driven quality gates.
Model threats with STRIDE
Build data-flow diagrams and apply STRIDE to surface threats and rank mitigations before code is written.
Neutralize injection flaws
Apply validation, parameterization, and encoding to eliminate SQLi, XSS, and command injection classes.
Harden authentication flows
Implement modern password hashing, MFA, and session defenses that resist credential and session attacks.
Secure APIs end to end
Apply scoped tokens, rate limiting, and secrets discipline across REST and microservice endpoints.
Run SAST and DAST in CI
Integrate static and dynamic scanners into pull requests and pipelines with trusted quality gates.
Triage SCA findings
Prioritize dependency vulnerabilities by reachability and ship upgrades without breaking builds.
Lead secure code reviews
Run structured reviews that catch auth, crypto, and logic flaws and leave actionable remediation.
Teams that Benefit from this Application Security and Secure Coding Group Training
This group training is built for software teams that want security designed into their code from the first commit. Content adapts to each cohort's roles, languages, and pipelines, so every batch practices the workflows it owns, from threat modeling to scanner-driven delivery.
Ship features without shipping vulnerabilities.
Developers learn to write secure code by default: validating input, encoding output, and handling auth correctly in the frameworks they use daily.

Where this Training Fits in Your Team's learning path.
Secure coding opens this path because every later practice depends on developers who write safe code by habit. From there, your team applies the same discipline to AI-generated code, builds security into the whole development lifecycle and manages the open-source components it ships.
