Program Overview: What is API Security and Testing?
API Security & Testing is a 24-hour program for developers, security engineers, QA engineers, and platform engineers. Participants cover API security foundations, threat modeling and attack surface analysis, authentication, authorization, and access control, API testing techniques and tooling, and defense in depth with rate limiting, WAF, and monitoring. The capstone asks each learner to run an end-to-end security assessment of a live API.
Training blends guided labs with expert coaching across 24 hours and three practice sessions. Participants attack and defend realistic APIs in hands-on labs, build threat models, test authentication and authorization flaws, run API testing toolkits, and configure rate limiting and monitoring defenses. Instructors review test findings, coach learners on secure API patterns, and give structured feedback before the capstone. The final five-and-a-half-hour capstone consolidates everything into a full security assessment.
Teams feel real pain when insecure APIs ship: breached data, broken authentication, and attackers abusing unprotected endpoints. This program teaches a different way of working. Learners leave with threat-modeling discipline, repeatable security testing techniques, and layered defense practices they can apply the next day.
They have already found the vulnerabilities in a sample API and written the report. Your next pentest debrief will have people in the room who speak the language.
APIs now carry the data every product depends on, which makes them a prime target. This program moves your team from reactive fixes to disciplined API security: systematic threat modeling, repeatable testing routines, and defense controls that hold up under real attack patterns. Every module ends in a lab where employees reproduce a vulnerability class, then fix and verify it. The capstone is a full security assessment of a sample API, reviewed by the instructor against an industry-aligned checklist. You leave with testing playbooks, gateway policy templates, and a remediation workflow your team can apply immediately.

Where this Training Fits in Your Team's learning path.
API security and testing sits after API design and secure coding, because your team needs to know how APIs are built and where code goes wrong. Testing then catches the gaps, and the final step builds those checks into a secure development lifecycle.
