Program Overview: What is Jenkins?
Jenkins is Edstellar's instructor-led program for DevOps, build, and platform engineers running CI/CD on Jenkins. It covers Jenkins architecture, declarative pipelines, build automation, security and credentials, and end-to-end delivery across six modules and 24 hours. Participants learn to run Jenkins as a production platform. It is built for teams whose releases depend on Jenkins.
Training is hands-on from the first module. Participants install and configure controllers and agents, author declarative pipelines, integrate testing and security scanning, and manage credentials in four guided labs. Instructors coach each engineer through pipeline design, failure diagnosis, and scaling, giving direct feedback on their Jenkins builds. Modules progress from architecture through pipelines, builds, security, and delivery. It closes with a production Jenkins platform capstone reviewed by the instructor.
Jenkins sprawl is a familiar pain: snowflake controllers, fragile freestyle jobs, and credentials scattered across builds that nobody dares touch. Broken pipelines slow every release. This program teaches your engineers to run Jenkins properly, with pipeline-as-code, secured credentials, and a platform design that scales with the organization.
The capstone is a production Jenkins platform: controller and agent architecture, declarative multibranch pipelines, credential management, and a delivery workflow, built on live infrastructure and reviewed by the instructor. Your engineers return with a Jenkins platform they can operate and the pipeline craft to keep every release flowing.
Six modules and 24 hours: Jenkins foundations, declarative pipelines, build automation, security and credentials, CI/CD delivery, and a production platform capstone. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each technique is practiced on real pipelines.

Jenkins Course Topics and Program Outline
Six instructor-led modules take your team from Jenkins installation and controller setup through declarative pipelines, build automation, security, and CI/CD delivery to a production-grade platform capstone.
Built by Edstellar with CI/CD and DevOps engineering expertise
Built by engineers who build, secure, and operate Jenkins pipelines in production, shaped around your stack and use cases.
A short skills check maps your team's current build and release practices, so labs and examples start at the right depth.
Instructor-led sessions cover Jenkins architecture, declarative pipeline syntax, and core automation concepts step by step.
Guided labs build real pipelines: build tools, shared libraries, credentials, and quality gates on live controllers.
Your team ships a production-grade Jenkins platform capstone and defends the design with the instructor.
Every module pairs concept delivery with guided practice, so skills are proven on real pipeline tasks, not just discussed.

Key Skills and Outcomes Your Team Will Gain
Your team leaves able to install, pipeline, secure, and operate Jenkins: declarative builds, shared libraries, quality gates, and a production delivery platform they have built themselves.
Controller Installation
Install and configure Jenkins controllers and agents, manage plugins, and set up global tools.
Declarative Pipelines
Author Jenkinsfiles with stages, directives, and post conditions, driven from source control.
Build Tool Integration
Wire JDK, Maven, Gradle, Node, and Docker toolchains into reliable automated builds.
Shared Libraries
Reuse pipeline logic across teams with versioned shared libraries and custom steps.
Credentials Security
Store, scope, and mask secrets with role-based access control on team controllers.
CI/CD Delivery
Automate the full path from commit to deployment with quality gates and promotions.
Platform Operations
Monitor, back up, scale, and tune Jenkins for production-grade reliability.
Teams that Benefit from this Jenkins Group Training
Built for DevOps, platform, release, and test teams who own builds and releases and need Jenkins to be fast, secure, and reliable. The program adapts to each cohort's tools and stack, so every team practices the pipeline workflows it owns day to day.
Standardize pipelines across every service
Platform teams own the shared Jenkins platform: controllers, agents, and shared libraries. This program shows how to run one consistent, secure pipeline service that every product team can build on.
Workflow friction
- Pipeline sprawl across product teams
- Inconsistent builds and flaky releases
- Manual release steps and tribal knowledge
How the program helps
- Consistent pipeline templates for all teams
- Governed shared libraries and tooling
- Secure, auditable controller operations
Practice use cases
- Shared libraries
- Controller setup
- Agent scaling
- Pipeline templates
Automate builds from commit to release
Release engineers own the build-to-deploy path. They practice building fast, reliable Jenkins pipelines with quality gates, artifact management, and promotion workflows that make releases boring.
Workflow friction
- Slow, manual release processes
- Builds that fail unpredictably
- Poor visibility into release state
How the program helps
- Faster, repeatable release cycles
- Quality gates before every promotion
- Traceable artifacts and build history
Practice use cases
- Release pipelines
- Quality gates
- Artifact tracking
- Promotion flows
Shift testing left in every pipeline
Test teams integrate automated suites into Jenkins pipelines: unit, integration, and acceptance tests with reporting, thresholds, and quality gates that block bad builds early.
Workflow friction
- Tests run too late in the cycle
- Flaky tests blocking releases
- No unified test reporting
How the program helps
- Automated tests in every build
- Test reports and trend dashboards
- Gates that block failing builds
Practice use cases
- Test pipelines
- JUnit reporting
- Quality thresholds
- Regression gates
Run Jenkins at production scale
Infrastructure teams run Jenkins on reliable foundations: distributed agents, containerized controllers, monitoring, and backup. They learn the operational patterns that keep CI/CD available.
Workflow friction
- Overloaded controllers and queues
- No backup or recovery plan
- Unmonitored build infrastructure
How the program helps
- Scalable agent infrastructure
- Monitored, backed-up controllers
- Reliable upgrades and recovery
Practice use cases
- Agent fleets
- Backup plans
- Monitoring setup
- Upgrades
Cohorts are grouped with peers at a similar CI/CD maturity, so labs and examples match the pipelines your teams run.
Prerequisites: Designed for engineers comfortable with Git and the command line; prior Jenkins experience is not required. Familiarity with a build tool such as Maven or npm helps. The program adapts to each cohort's repositories, toolchains, and delivery process.
Build engineer to CI/CD operator
Progresses from Jenkins installation basics through declarative pipelines and build automation to secured, production-grade delivery platforms.
A program that grows with DevOps careers, from a first Jenkins install to confident production pipeline operations.

Where this Training Fits in Your Team's learning path.
Jenkins follows Git because every job starts from source control. Containers then make builds and deployments consistent, and DevSecOps adds security checks to the Jenkins pipelines once they are running.
