Program Overview: What is Maintenance, Reliability and TPM?
Maintenance, Reliability & TPM is a 24-hour instructor-led program for maintenance, reliability, and operations teams that keep plant equipment running reliably. It teaches failure thinking, the TPM pillars including autonomous maintenance, preventive and condition-based maintenance, FMEA, reliability-centered maintenance logic, root cause analysis, work planning, and spares management.
Sessions combine expert briefings with hands-on workshops on the team's own equipment issues. Learners run failure mode analyses, build autonomous maintenance routines with operators, design preventive schedules, perform root cause investigations, and set up the KPIs that prove reliability is improving. Instructors review each exercise, challenge weak analyses, and coach through real plant scenarios. The program finishes with a 5.5-hour capstone, the Site Reliability Improvement Project, targeting a real equipment problem.
Sites suffer when maintenance is firefighting: operators ignore early warning signs, preventive tasks slip, spares arrive late, and the same failures repeat. TPM changes who owns reliability by putting operators on the front line of equipment care and giving planners the tools to schedule, stock, and measure. This program builds that ownership discipline step by step.
The capstone delivers a working site reliability improvement project: a defined equipment problem, applied FMEA and root cause analysis, an autonomous and preventive maintenance plan, spares and KPI recommendations, and a business case the team can present to plant leadership. It is not a paper exercise; it is the first real reliability win at their site.
Participants practice building PM schedules, running condition monitoring checks, leading FMEA sessions, investigating root causes and planning weekly maintenance work in guided labs. The program closes with a capstone project: a full site reliability improvement plan presented for instructor review. Content adapts to each cohort's equipment, systems and maintenance workflows.

Teams that Benefit from this Maintenance, Reliability and TPM Group Training
Built for maintenance, reliability and operations teams responsible for plant equipment performance. Content adapts to each cohort's roles and experience so every team practices the workflows it owns.
Stronger planning and execution on every work order
Maintenance engineers gain structured methods for PM scheduling, work planning and condition monitoring that raise wrench time and cut rework.
Workflow friction
- Reactive work crowds out planned tasks
- Recurring failures on the same equipment
- Patchy CMMS and work order records
How the program helps
- Higher wrench time through better planning
- Fewer repeat failures on critical assets
- Cleaner CMMS work order discipline
Practice use cases
- PM schedules
- work planning
- CMMS work orders
- failure analysis
Practical FMEA, RCM and RCA that stick
Reliability engineers practice FMEA, reliability-centered maintenance logic and root cause analysis on realistic asset cases.
Workflow friction
- Analysis stays in spreadsheets
- RCA stops at the obvious cause
- No clear asset criticality list
How the program helps
- Better-targeted maintenance strategies
- Faster, deeper root cause investigations
- Stronger asset criticality ranking
Practice use cases
- FMEA workshops
- RCM decisions
- root cause analysis
- criticality ranking
Operators who protect equipment, not just run it
Operators learn autonomous maintenance, 5S and early abnormality detection so small issues are caught before they stop production.
Workflow friction
- Operators avoid maintenance tasks
- Abnormalities reported too late
- Basic care standards not followed
How the program helps
- Earlier detection of abnormal conditions
- Cleaner, better-maintained equipment
- Fewer minor stops in production
Practice use cases
- autonomous care
- 5S standards
- abnormality detection
- cleaning checklists
Spares stocked by criticality, not guesswork
MRO teams build criticality-based stocking levels and planning routines that cut stockouts without tying up cash in slow movers.
Workflow friction
- Emergency purchases inflate costs
- Obsolete parts sit on shelves
- Stores disconnected from planners
How the program helps
- Fewer stockouts on critical spares
- Lower inventory tied up in slow movers
- Tighter link between stores and planning
Practice use cases
- spares criticality
- stocking levels
- MRO planning
Cohorts can mix functions; labs adapt to the equipment and systems each team actually maintains.
Prerequisites: Maintenance engineers, technicians, planners and supervisors benefit most. Familiarity with plant equipment helps but is not required, and no prior TPM or reliability engineering experience is needed. Sessions adapt to each cohort's equipment, systems and workflows.
Maintenance technician to reliability engineer
Skill rows track how each capability deepens from foundational maintenance knowledge to advanced reliability practice across the program.
A program that grows with maintenance careers, from failure basics to confident reliability leadership.

Connect Maintenance Strategy With Failure Evidence and Practical Reliability Planning
Edstellar develops maintenance and reliability capability through equipment-focused workshops. Participants classify failures, design autonomous and preventive routines, and investigate breakdown causes before planning work and spares. The final site project links these decisions with reliability measures, reviewed for analysis quality, task relevance, resource priorities, and a clear explanation of the proposed improvement.
- Step 01
Consult
We explore equipment responsibilities, maintenance practices, and recurring breakdown or planning issues to identify the cohort's needs in TPM, failure analysis, and reliability measurement.
- Step 02
Plan
We establish maintenance and failure concepts before TPM and preventive routines, then connect condition-based inspection, FMEA, root-cause analysis, and work planning in the site project.
- Step 03
Align
We align maintenance and reliability expertise with engineers, technicians, planners, operations, and MRO staff, selecting representative equipment cases and appropriate support for participants new to TPM.
- Step 04
Customize
We adapt pump, motor, and conveyor cases to familiar asset conditions, providing failure and spares information that participants can use to justify maintenance priorities.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants draft operator checklists, plan inspections, and analyze breakdowns before building schedules, receiving feedback on failure logic, task effectiveness, spares criticality, and KPI selection.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the reliability project for supported failure analysis, appropriate maintenance tasks, feasible work and spares plans, and measures that can test whether the proposed changes help.
