Program Overview: What is Business Analysis and Valuation?
Business Analysis & Valuation is Edstellar's instructor-led finance program for analysts, investors, and finance professionals who need to value businesses with rigor. Participants master financial statement analysis foundations, then forecast free cash flow for DCF valuation. Six modules and 24 hours cover cost of capital, return on invested capital, relative valuation, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and credit analysis.
The program runs on real company financials. Participants build DCF models from scratch, calibrate discount rates, run comparable company and precedent deal analyses, and stress-test valuations in guided modeling labs. Instructors with investment and corporate finance experience review every model for the errors that sink real deals. The program closes with a capstone: an integrated valuation and investment memo.
Bad valuations are expensive: overpay for an acquisition, misprice an investment, or defend a number you can't support in front of a board. Spreadsheet confidence is not analysis. This program teaches professionals to value businesses the way the market will test them, with defensible assumptions and models that survive scrutiny.
The capstone is an integrated valuation of a realistic company with a full investment memo: DCF with documented assumptions, relative valuation cross-checks, scenario and sensitivity tables, credit analysis, and a clear buy-or-pass recommendation. Instructors challenge the memo like an investment committee would. Participants finish with a valuation they can defend line by line, and the modeling discipline to repeat it on the next deal.
Six modules and 24 hours: financial statement analysis, DCF valuation, cost of capital, relative valuation, and scenario and sensitivity analysis. Every module pairs concepts with a guided spreadsheet lab, so each technique is practiced. It closes with a capstone where the team completes an integrated valuation and defends an investment memo.
Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar. Cohorts train as one group or split into batches, with session materials and lab guides included for every participant.
