Program Overview: What is Privacy by Design and Data Protection Engineering?
Privacy by Design & Data Protection Engineering is Edstellar's instructor-led technical program for privacy engineers, security teams, and product developers. Participants master privacy principles, the data protection law landscape, privacy engineering techniques, DPIAs, and embedding privacy into the SDLC. The program treats privacy as an engineering discipline.
Training is engineering-focused throughout. Learners apply anonymization techniques, conduct DPIAs, and design privacy controls in hands-on exercises on realistic product systems, the way a privacy review board would interrogate them, documenting every design decision for audit. Instructors coach the team through SDLC integration and risk assessment, reviewing every design with technical feedback on compliance strength. The program closes with a capstone: a complete privacy program build.
Privacy bolted on late is expensive: retrofits, regulatory findings, launch delays, and products rebuilt after a public release. This program teaches your teams to engineer privacy in from the design stage. The result is compliance by construction, not by audit scramble.
What the capstone produces is the artifact a regulator would ask to see: principles mapped to controls, DPIA templates, SDLC checkpoints, and an operating model. Your engineers return with privacy engineering they can defend in any review.
Six modules and 24 hours: privacy foundations, the law landscape, privacy engineering techniques, DPIAs and risk assessment, privacy in the SDLC, and a capstone privacy program build. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each technique is practiced. It closes with a capstone program the team builds, validates, and presents.
Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar. Cohorts train as one group or split into batches, with session materials and lab guides included for every participant.
