Program Overview: What is Influence and Impact: Leading Without Authority?
Influence & Impact: Leading Without Authority is a 16-hour leadership training program for individual contributors, project leads, and matrix managers who must move people without formal power. It covers stakeholder mapping, executive presence and storytelling, handling pushback, coaching conversations, and building alliances. The method is practice, not theory: role plays, live scenarios, and peer feedback.
Learning runs through realistic influence scenarios. Participants map their real stakeholders, practice executive storytelling, rehearse handling objections from difficult counterparts, and run coaching conversations that actually change behavior. Facilitators with leadership experience debrief every round, sharpening message, timing, and presence. The program closes with an action lab: a full influence campaign designed for a real initiative you are leading.
Good ideas die when their owners cannot influence: ignored proposals, stalled initiatives, and credit going to louder voices. This program teaches professionals to build the alliances and presence that move decisions, so impact depends on skill rather than title. Authority is borrowed; influence is owned.
The capstone is an influence campaign action lab. Each participant designs a real campaign for an initiative they need to advance: the stakeholder map, the alliance plan, the story, the objection handling, and the sequence of moves. They run it live in the room, get grilled, and refine. What leaves with them is a campaign ready to execute on Monday morning, built for the politics of their actual workplace.
The program is built for the reality of modern organizations, where projects cut across teams and no single leader owns every resource. Through case clinics, peer circles and a live action lab, participants practice the conversations that move work: winning buy-in from senior sponsors, turning blockers into champions, and keeping momentum after the meeting ends. Every exercise runs on your team's live initiatives, so the learning applies the moment participants return to work.

Teams that Benefit from this Influence and Impact: Leading Without Authority Group Training
This program is built for people who must deliver results through others they do not manage: project leads, product managers, functional heads and individual contributors. Content adapts to each cohort's roles and live initiatives, so every team practices influence on the work it actually owns.
Ship outcomes through peers, not orders
Product managers influence engineers, designers and business owners every day. This program gives them stakeholder maps, framing skills and coaching rhythms that move roadmaps without authority.
Workflow friction
- Roadmaps stall when engineering priorities shift
- Feature debates turn into political stalemates

How the program helps
- Win engineering buy-in with shared proof
- Frame tradeoffs executives can endorse
- Turn blockers into visible champions
Practice use cases
- Roadmap pitches
- Sprint planning
- Executive reviews
- Partner negotiations
Drive deals across the buying committee
Sellers and marketers win by influencing people who report to someone else. The program sharpens their stakeholder reading, objection handling and multi-threaded campaign planning.

How the program helps
- Unblock work with influence mapping
- Run clinics that surface real blockers
- Sustain change with review cadences

Build Influence Across Reporting Lines Through Practiced Leadership Conversations
Edstellar helps professionals lead initiatives when decisions depend on people they do not manage. Participants examine credibility, map alliances, and rehearse executive pitches, resistance conversations, and peer coaching. Feedback on message, timing, and presence informs a complete influence campaign, reviewed for stakeholder understanding and a realistic sequence of conversations.
- Step 01
Consult
We examine cross-team initiatives, access to decision-makers, and participants' confidence with resistance and coaching to identify where influence without formal authority breaks down.
- Step 02
Plan
We move from an influence inventory and stakeholder alliances to executive storytelling, objection handling, and coaching, ending with a sequenced ninety-day influence campaign.
- Step 03
Align
We match leadership facilitation to the cohort's cross-functional responsibilities, allowing project leads and individual contributors to practice without assuming managerial authority over counterparts.
- Step 04
Customize
We shape case clinics around stalled dependencies, contested priorities, or partner resistance, adapting stakeholder roles and decision constraints to the initiatives participants lead.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants deliver short executive pitches, rehearse reframed responses to pushback, and coach peers, using feedback to sharpen their listening, presence, and next conversational move.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We review the influence campaign and live presentation for credible stakeholder analysis, well-sequenced relationship building, clear requests, and thoughtful responses to challenging peer questions.
