Program Overview: What is Inventory and Warehouse Management?
Inventory & Warehouse Management is a 24-hour instructor-led program for warehouse managers, inventory planners, and supply chain teams. It covers inventory and warehouse foundations, warehouse layout, storage systems and slotting, receiving, putaway and inventory accuracy, picking, packing and order fulfillment, and inventory control, cycle counting, and demand planning. Participants close with an end-to-end warehouse optimization capstone.
Training runs as 24 hours of instructor-led sessions built around warehouse labs. Participants design warehouse layouts, optimize slotting, practice receiving and putaway routines, tune picking and packing for fulfillment speed, and run cycle counting and inventory accuracy exercises. Instructors with warehouse operations experience review every design and coach participants on space utilization, labor productivity, and accuracy. The program closes with the End-to-End Warehouse Optimization Capstone, where each team optimizes a simulated warehouse.
Warehouses bleed money quietly: poor slotting, inaccurate inventory, and slow picking that nobody measures. Teams work harder while accuracy drifts. This program gives warehouse professionals the methods to run tight, accurate, fast operations, turning the warehouse from a cost center into a competitive edge.
The End-to-End Warehouse Optimization Capstone hands each team a struggling simulated warehouse and asks for a turnaround plan: layout redesign, slotting logic, receiving and putaway procedures, picking strategy, cycle counting program, and the KPIs that prove improvement, all challenged by instructors on labor impact and implementation order. The plan must work within the facility's real constraints. Teams leave with an optimization playbook they can adapt to their own buildings on Monday.
Participants master slotting and layout design, barcode and RFID workflows, cycle counting, reorder policies, and safety stock calculation. Every lab mirrors real warehouse decisions so your team returns to work ready to cut errors, raise fill rates, and lower cost per order.

Connect Warehouse Layout and Stock Controls With Everyday Fulfillment Work
Edstellar develops warehouse and inventory capability through the flow from receiving to dispatch. Participants classify SKUs, design slotting and putaway rules, compare picking methods, and calculate replenishment parameters. The warehouse optimization plan combines these decisions, with review of space use, inventory accuracy, order profiles, and the practicality of proposed operating routines.
- Step 01
Consult
We examine receiving errors, misplaced stock, picking delays, and replenishment responsibilities to identify how warehouse supervisors, planners, and logistics staff can improve their shared operating knowledge.
- Step 02
Plan
We connect SKU classification with layout and slotting, then build receiving, putaway, counting, and fulfillment routines before integrating replenishment calculations in the warehouse capstone.
- Step 03
Align
We align warehouse operations expertise with supervisory, inventory, and logistics roles, using the cohort's facility characteristics and systems context to frame practical design exercises.
- Step 04
Customize
We adapt sample SKU velocities, order profiles, and storage layouts to familiar warehouse conditions, giving teams concrete constraints for choosing putaway and picking methods.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants design directed putaway, compare timed picking scenarios, run count-planning exercises, and calculate stock parameters, receiving feedback on accuracy, workflow fit, and operational trade-offs.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We review the warehouse optimization plan for coherent layout and slotting, justified picking methods, reliable inventory checks, and replenishment decisions consistent with the case data.
