Program Overview: What is Transportation and Logistics Management?
Transportation & Logistics Management is Edstellar's instructor-led program for supply chain, logistics, and operations teams moving goods at scale. Participants learn transportation foundations, freight modes and carrier management, and route planning with fleet optimization. The curriculum covers warehousing, distribution, inventory flow, TMS systems, and logistics analytics.
Training is operations-focused from the first module. Participants compare freight modes, negotiate with carriers in realistic exercises, and optimize routes and fleet utilization in guided labs. Instructors coach your team through warehouse and inventory flow design, TMS configuration, and logistics analytics, reviewing every exercise with direct feedback. The program closes with a capstone where the team optimizes a logistics network end to end.
Freight costs bleed through contracts nobody renegotiates, trucks run half-empty on fixed routes, and warehouses fill with inventory nobody can find. Logistics gets managed lane by lane while the network leaks money. This program teaches your people to manage transportation as a system, where every mode, carrier, and warehouse decision compounds.
The capstone is a network optimization for a realistic logistics operation: the team selects freight modes, renegotiates carrier terms, redesigns routes, rebalances warehouse and inventory flow, and builds the TMS dashboards to run it all. Instructors challenge the cost and service trade-offs the way a CFO would. Participants take back an optimization playbook calibrated to their own freight spend.
The program closes with a capstone where each team redesigns a transportation network and defends the cost and service trade-offs for instructor review. Content adapts to your lanes, modes, and network footprint.
