Program Overview: What is GeoAI: Geospatial AI and Deep Learning?
GeoAI: Geospatial AI & Deep Learning is an instructor-led program for data teams applying deep learning to geospatial data. It covers geospatial data foundations, deep learning essentials for spatial data, satellite image segmentation, geospatial prediction and object detection, and GeoAI pipelines at scale. Every skill is practiced in guided hands-on labs.
Training runs across six modules over 24 hours with labs throughout. Participants prepare satellite and vector data, train segmentation and detection models, run geospatial prediction workflows, and build serving pipelines for GeoAI at scale. Instructors who build production GeoAI systems review every model and coach the engineering decisions. The program closes with the Capstone: End-to-End GeoAI Project.
Satellite imagery and spatial data pile up unused because teams can open a map but cannot train a model on it. Segmentation fails, detections misfire, and pilots never reach production scale. This program builds the full GeoAI skill chain, so teams can take spatial data from raw imagery to deployed models.
The capstone is an end-to-end GeoAI project: the team takes a real spatial problem from data preparation through model training to a serving pipeline, and presents accuracy and scale results. Reviewers probe the modelling and deployment choices, and the team leaves with a working GeoAI system and the pipeline to repeat it.
Across 24 instructor-led hours, participants progress from geospatial data foundations to an end-to-end capstone project. Guided labs keep every skill hands-on: working with raster and vector data, training U-Net segmentation models, detecting objects in aerial imagery, and serving GeoAI models through scalable inference pipelines.

Build GeoAI Workflows From Spatial Data Preparation to Reviewed Inference
Edstellar connects geospatial analysis with deep learning through an end-to-end imagery project. Participants prepare and align data, train image models, and practice segmentation and detection before building batch and API inference. The final delivery is reviewed for spatial consistency, model evidence, usable outputs, and a clear explanation of engineering choices.
- Step 01
Consult
We assess Python and machine-learning familiarity, identifying gaps in imagery preparation, spatial validation, or turning segmentation and detection results into usable geospatial outputs.
- Step 02
Plan
Geospatial foundations lead into deep learning for imagery, segmentation, prediction and detection, then scalable serving before the complete GeoAI project is presented.
- Step 03
Align
We align GeoAI engineering expertise with GIS and data-science roles, confirming suitable imagery, compute, and tool readiness while supporting those new to spatial workflows.
- Step 04
Customize
Sample satellite tiles, vector overlays, and infrastructure labels reflect relevant mapping tasks, preserving data preparation, model comparison, and spatial-output checks across the exercises.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants train image models, export segmentation polygons, and build inference APIs, receiving feedback on alignment, model evaluation, tiling, and the interpretation of spatial predictions.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the data, model, API, and results presentation for spatial consistency, supported predictive claims, functioning inference, and clear explanations of model limitations.
