Cloud Migration & Application Modernization is Edstellar's instructor-led program for infrastructure teams, architects, and engineering leaders moving real portfolios to the cloud. Over 29 hours, participants learn migration strategy and planning, portfolio assessment, landing zones, rehost and replatform techniques, containerization, data migration, and cutover with FinOps. It covers the whole journey from first assessment to steady-state operations.
Participants assess a realistic application portfolio, design a landing zone, and execute migrations in guided labs, rehosting workloads, containerizing services, and moving data with minimal downtime. They rehearse cutover weekends and post-migration optimization under instructor guidance. Six practice sessions simulate the pressure of real migration waves before the capstone: planning and executing an end-to-end migration wave.
Migrations fail in predictable ways: no portfolio strategy so everything moves at once, landing zones built after workloads arrive, data migration discovered late, and a cutover nobody rehearsed. This program teaches the disciplined sequence, assess, prepare, migrate in waves, optimize, and the modernization choices that make each wave cheaper than the last.
The capstone is an end-to-end migration wave: assessed portfolio, wave plan, executed migrations with data moved and cutover performed, plus the FinOps baseline for steady state. Participants leave having run a migration, not just studied one, ready to lead their organization's real waves.
29 hours across 7 modules: migration strategy, discovery and assessment, landing zones, container modernization, data migration and security, and FinOps optimization. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab. It closes with a capstone migration wave the team plans, executes, and presents.
