Program Overview: What is Apache Beam?

Apache Beam is an instructor-led program for data engineering teams building portable batch and streaming pipelines. Participants learn the Beam model, pipelines, PCollections, and PTransforms, and how to handle bounded and unbounded data. Across 24 hours, the training covers core transforms, I/O connectors, windowing, triggers, watermarks, stateful processing, Beam SQL, and runner deployment.

Every module pairs live instruction with guided labs where learners build and run pipelines using the Beam Python SDK. Instructors coach teams through ParDo and composite transforms, windowing strategies, triggers, and stateful DoFns, with feedback on each build. Learners practice I/O connectors, autoscaling, resource tuning, and job monitoring. The program closes with a five-hour capstone where each team builds, deploys, and validates a streaming analytics pipeline on a real runner.

Without these skills, teams hand-roll stream processing that breaks on late data and cannot move between runners. This program replaces ad-hoc logic with the Beam model: correct windowing over event time, watermarks that bound lateness, and stateful processing that survives restarts. Graduates write portable pipelines once and run them on Dataflow, Flink, or Spark without rewriting.

Streaming stops being scary when you have deployed a real pipeline and watched it handle late data. They leave with that scar tissue already earned.

By the end of the program, your team will be able to model data workflows as Beam pipelines, choose the right windowing and trigger strategy for event streams, write stateful transforms and Beam SQL queries, and package pipelines for reliable execution on your chosen runner. The program also covers pipeline options, autoscaling behavior, logging, and the metrics that matter when a streaming job runs overnight. Content is customized to your stack: we align labs with your data sources, your runner, and your deployment process so every exercise maps to day-to-day work.

Develop Beam Streaming Pipelines With Event-Time and Deployment Evidence

Edstellar helps data engineers connect the Beam programming model with the behavior of streaming workloads. Participants build transforms, connect data sources, and examine windows, triggers, and state before deploying to a runner. A complete analytics pipeline brings the work together, with review of correctness, timing assumptions, and operational visibility.

  1. Step 01

    Consult

We review Python and pipeline experience to identify needs in Beam transforms, connectors, event-time handling, stateful processing, runner deployment, and validation.

  2. Step 02

    Plan

We establish the Beam model and core I/O before exploring windows, watermarks, state, and SQL, then deploy and review an integrated streaming pipeline.

  3. Step 03

    Align

We align instruction with data engineers’ and developers’ background, introducing streaming concepts through local runs before progressing to managed-runner operations.

  4. Step 04

    Customize

We tailor sample event streams, cleansing tasks, and session scenarios to familiar analytics questions while preserving explicit assumptions about timing, triggers, and retained state.

  5. Step 05

    Execute

Participants build transforms, test session windows, and monitor runner execution, receiving feedback on aggregation correctness, event-time interpretation, and the behavior of stateful logic.

  6. Step 06

    Evaluate

We assess the streaming pipeline for correct transformations, justified window and trigger choices, validated stateful behavior, and monitoring that makes deployment outcomes understandable.
