Program Overview: What is Product Design and Development Lifecycle?
Product Design & Development Lifecycle training gives your team a complete, practical path from idea to released product. Your team learns how to discover user needs, design and prototype solutions, build with modern engineering workflows, and release with confidence. The program suits product managers, designers, and engineers who ship software together.
Across six modules and 23 instructor-led hours, participants move from discovery and requirements through UX prototyping, agile development workflows, and design patterns. Guided labs have teams interview-style discovery exercises, build clickable prototypes, run agile ceremonies with CI pipelines, and apply design patterns to real code. Instructors review prototypes and code for quality, correcting the shortcuts that become production debt. The program closes with the End-to-End Product Build and Release capstone.
Teams fail at the handoffs: discovery that never reaches design, designs developers cannot build, code that ships without quality checks, and releases everyone dreads. Each broken handoff adds rework and erodes trust between product, design, and engineering. This program teaches the whole lifecycle as one craft, so teams carry a product from idea to release without dropping it between roles.
For the capstone, each team ships a real product increment end to end: researched user needs with a prioritized requirements list, a clickable UX prototype, a codebase built with agile workflows and clean design patterns, a working CI pipeline, and a release runbook. Instructors review the increment the way a production release review would, checking the prototype against the requirements and the code against the patterns. The team keeps a lifecycle playbook it can reuse on its next release, and the next.
Across six modules, participants move from discovery and requirements through UX prototyping, agile development workflows, design patterns, and a capstone release. Every module pairs instructor-led learning with guided labs, so skills are practiced in realistic product scenarios, not just presented in slides.

A product increment brings the stages together, reviewed for traceability from the problem statement to design choices and test evidence.
- Step 01
Consult
We explore product, design, and engineering experience alongside handoff challenges to identify gaps in discovery, requirements, usability testing, or integrated development and release work.
- Step 02
Plan
We move from discovery and roadmapping to UX prototyping, then continuous integration, design patterns, and automated testing before the end-to-end product increment.
- Step 03
Align
We align product design and software engineering expertise with the cohort's roles, confirming suitable prototype tools and a sample repository for collaborative technical exercises.
- Step 04
Customize
We adapt sample product briefs and three-screen flows to familiar user problems, keeping engineering tasks and backlog scope manageable for the cohort's experience.
