Program Overview: What is Methane, Emissions and Leak Management?
Methane, Emissions & Leak Management is a 24-hour corporate training program for HSE teams, operations managers, and sustainability professionals in oil, gas, and process industries. It covers methane science and the emissions landscape, emission source identification, detection and measurement technologies, LDAR program design, and abatement and decarbonization levers. Learners finish by assembling an enterprise methane action plan.
The program runs as six instructor-led modules with four hands-on labs. Learners classify emission sources and compute CO2-equivalent values, trace emission pathways through a facility diagram, run a simulated OGI survey walk and quantify findings, build a complete LDAR schedule with survey routes and repair tracking, and rank mitigation options by cost per tonne of CO2e reduced. Instructors coach each exercise. The five-hour capstone assembles the full enterprise methane action plan from prior labs.
Methane leaks are invisible money and visible regulatory exposure: unmeasured emissions draw fines, derail net-zero claims, and erode stakeholder trust. This program teaches teams to find, measure, and fix leaks systematically with LDAR discipline and costed abatement. The payoff is emissions they can report honestly and reductions they can prove.
The capstone delivers an enterprise methane action plan: source inventory, detection and measurement methods, the LDAR schedule, repair tracking, and a sequenced investment plan with documented assumptions, assembled from the labs and critiqued by instructors. Teams return with a working plan they can implement at their own facilities, so methane management becomes a managed program with numbers, not an annual estimate nobody trusts.
Six modules and 24 hours: methane science and source mapping, detection and measurement technologies, LDAR program design, abatement and mitigation levers, and a capstone enterprise methane action plan. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each method is practiced. It closes with a capstone action plan the team assembles, documents, and presents.
Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar. Cohorts train as one group or split into batches, with session materials and detection guides included for every participant.

The enterprise action plan consolidates these exercises, with review focused on documented measurement assumptions, complete repair tracking, and a reasoned sequence of proposed abatement measures.
- Step 01
Consult
We review asset and emissions responsibilities, familiarity with field equipment, and data-table confidence to identify priorities in detection workflows, LDAR design, and mitigation analysis.
- Step 02
Plan
We connect methane science and source mapping with detection and quantification, then develop LDAR operations and abatement comparisons before assembling the enterprise action plan.
- Step 03
Align
We align emissions and leak management expertise with EHS, field operations, engineering, and reporting roles, calibrating measurement support to the cohort's assets and experience.
- Step 04
Customize
Sample facility diagrams, survey observations, and repair logs reflect relevant asset types, enabling realistic route planning and abatement comparisons without requiring sensitive operational emissions records.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants interpret simulated OGI findings, estimate emissions, build survey and repair schedules, and rank mitigation options, receiving feedback on measurement methods and economic assumptions.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the methane action plan for traceable source estimates, complete LDAR responsibilities, documented assumptions, and mitigation priorities supported by the exercise's emissions and cost evidence.
