Program Overview: What is Tekla Structures?
Tekla Structures is a 24-hour program for structural detailers and BIM modelers who need structural modeling and fabrication detail on one platform. Across six modules it covers modeling fundamentals, steel detailing, connections, concrete basics, drawings and reports, and model management. It suits contractors and consultants running structural BIM programs.
Training is hands-on: every concept is taught through guided labs in live Tekla models, building structures, detailing connections, and generating fabrication output. Participants model steel and concrete elements, apply connection libraries, and produce drawings and CNC data with instructor coaching. The instructor reviews each model and corrects weak habits before fabrication. A five-and-a-half-hour capstone closes the program, where participants detail a complete structure end to end.
Teams struggle with inconsistent modeling, connection errors found in the shop, and drawings that do not match the model. This program builds detailing discipline: accurate models, correct connections, and fabrication-ready output. Detailers learn shared standards for numbering and drawing logic.
The capstone is a complete detailed structure: modeled, connected, numbered, and documented for fabrication, defended before instructors. Your team keeps the model and the Tekla workflows.

Where this Training Fits in Your Team's learning path.
Tekla detailing comes after modelling and structural analysis. Your team models in Revit, analyses in STAAD.Pro and ETABS, then details steel and concrete in Tekla in this course. The path ends with ISO 19650, which governs how those models are shared on the project.

Develop Structural Models That Support Consistent Detailing and Fabrication Output
Edstellar develops Tekla Structures skills through the connected stages of modeling, steel detailing, connection placement, and drawing production. Participants work from individual structural parts toward a complete detailed structure. Guided review links model organization and numbering to the quality of drawings, reports, and fabrication information generated from their work.
- Step 01
Consult
We assess structural drafting familiarity and current detailing responsibilities, identifying learning needs in model navigation, steel components, numbering, drawing generation, and fabrication output checks.
- Step 02
Plan
We build modeling foundations before steel detailing and connections, then introduce numbering and model management so participants can generate drawings from a coherent detailed structure.
- Step 03
Align
We align structural modeling expertise with detailers and BIM modelers, confirming familiarity with structural terminology and suitable Tekla environments for model and drawing exercises.
- Step 04
Customize
We tailor sample frames, bracing arrangements, and connection exercises to familiar structural projects, preserving practice in part properties, numbering, model organization, and drawing output.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants detail steel frames, apply connections, organize numbering, and generate assembly and part drawings, receiving feedback on model consistency and the relationship between geometry and output.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We examine the completed structure, drawings, and reports for correct part relationships, consistent numbering, usable detailing, and participants' ability to explain their modeling and output choices.
