Program Overview: What is Climate Risk Management?
Climate Risk Management is Edstellar's instructor-led program for risk, sustainability, and strategy teams who need a working system for climate risk, not just awareness of it. Over 24 hours, participants learn climate risk foundations and management frameworks, risk identification and classification, physical risk assessment, transition risk management, and how to integrate it all into enterprise risk management and disclosure. It is the end-to-end operating manual.
Each module pairs framework with application. Participants classify risks for sample business units, assess physical exposures on realistic asset sets, and model transition impacts under policy scenarios. Instructors coach the hard part: folding climate into existing ERM processes and governance structures rather than running it as a side project. Four practice sessions build the muscle memory, and the capstone assembles everything into one enterprise plan.
Climate risk usually lives in three different departments that never meet, sustainability writes the report, risk owns a register that ignores it, and strategy plans as if nothing changed. This program fixes the fragmentation: one taxonomy, one assessment method, one governance home, so climate risk gets managed with the same discipline as credit or operational risk.
Teams close by building an enterprise climate risk management plan, risks identified and classified, physical and transition assessments completed, ERM integration mapped, disclosure aligned. It is a plan their CRO could pick up and run with, and building it teaches them the whole system cold.
Six modules and 24 hours: climate risk foundations, risk identification, physical risk assessment, transition risk management, governance and ERM integration, and a capstone enterprise climate risk management plan. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each method is practiced. It closes with a capstone risk management plan the team assembles, documents, and presents.
Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar. Cohorts train as one group or split into batches, with session materials and risk assessment templates included for every participant.

Embed Climate Risk Analysis Into Practical Enterprise Governance and Response Plans
Edstellar connects climate-risk identification with asset assessment, transition analysis, and enterprise oversight. Participants develop risk registers, adaptation priorities, and governance records through guided exercises. Their management plan brings these elements together for review of risk coverage, analytical assumptions, ownership, and consistency between proposed responses and reporting requirements.
- Step 01
Consult
We examine climate responsibilities, spreadsheet confidence, and data maturity to identify gaps in risk classification, exposure analysis, adaptation, and enterprise integration.
- Step 02
Plan
We move from management foundations and risk registers to physical assessment, transition modeling, and ERM governance before assembling the enterprise plan.
- Step 03
Align
We align climate-risk facilitation with sustainability, finance, risk, and strategy roles, calibrating spreadsheet exercises to the cohort's assets and analytical readiness.
- Step 04
Customize
We adapt site exposure cases, portfolio assumptions, and governance memos to relevant business lines, using approved or sample data with explicit limitations.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants classify risks, score vulnerabilities, model carbon exposure, and draft governance links, receiving feedback on analytical reasoning, prioritization, and accountable ownership.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the management plan for complete risk coverage, justified adaptation and transition actions, transparent assumptions, and clear integration with enterprise oversight.
