Program Overview: What is Sustainability Reporting and Assurance?
Sustainability Reporting & Assurance is a 24-hour instructor-led program for sustainability teams, finance controllers, and reporting professionals preparing ESG disclosures. It covers ESG reporting foundations, double materiality and stakeholder mapping, and data collection with GHG inventories and internal controls. Participants also study CSRD, GRI, and ISSB standards plus assurance readiness and audit trails.
The program runs as six sessions that combine standards briefings with intensive reporting working labs. Participants run double-materiality assessments, design data collection controls, build GHG inventory structures, and map disclosures to CSRD, GRI, and ISSB requirements, with an instructor reviewing every artifact. Assurance-readiness exercises pressure-test evidence and audit trails the way an assurance provider would. The final session is the capstone: each team builds an integrated disclosure draft backed by a full audit trail.
Sustainability reporting done badly invites restatement risk, assurance qualifications, and credibility loss with investors. The program teaches teams to ground disclosures in double materiality, control the data behind every number, and build evidence that survives assurance review. They return reporting with confidence: materiality defensible, data controlled, disclosures assurance-ready.
The capstone is an integrated disclosure draft built during the course: double-materiality assessment, GHG inventory structure, CSRD/GRI/ISSB-mapped disclosures, internal control documentation, and an audit trail linking every claim to evidence. Teams subject it to a mock assurance review, so the draft arrives at their real assurance provider already hardened against the questions it will face.
Six modules and 24 hours: ESG reporting foundations, double materiality, data and controls, standards deep dive, assurance readiness, and a capstone disclosure build. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each method is practiced on realistic datasets. Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar.
