Program Overview: What is Red Hat System Administration?
Red Hat System Administration is Edstellar's instructor-led program for infrastructure engineers and IT administrators who build and run Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers. Participants learn RHEL installation, boot process and systemd, users and permissions, networking and SSH, LVM storage, SELinux, package management, and Ansible basics. The emphasis is on production readiness: servers built clean, secured properly, and kept running.
Training happens on live lab systems from the first module. Participants work through installation, boot troubleshooting, ACLs, and fstab on their own hosts, then configure networking with nmcli, harden SSH, and manage LVM storage in guided labs. Instructors review every exercise and coach through package management, Ansible automation, and performance monitoring with direct feedback. The program closes with a capstone where the team builds a hardened server and diagnoses injected failures.
Too many servers are snowflakes: built by whoever was around, configured by tribal knowledge, and fragile at 2am. This program teaches your administrators to build RHEL systems repeatably, secure them with SELinux and firewall rules, and troubleshoot methodically when things break. Every skill is practiced on real systems, so the learning transfers straight to your fleet.
The capstone proves it all: your team builds a hardened RHEL server from scratch, deploys a multi-service stack on it, then diagnoses injected boot, network, and storage failures under instructor review. They return with the confidence to build servers your organization can rely on and fix them when they fail.
Across six modules, your team moves from RHEL installation to a capstone server build. Sessions use live lab systems matching your RHEL versions, so every technique transfers directly to daily operations, from first install to incident resolution.

Red Hat System Administration Course Topics and Program Outline
Six modules move your team from RHEL installation to a capstone server build: boot, users, networking, storage, security, and automation.
Built by Edstellar with practicing Linux infrastructure engineers
Built by engineers who administer Red Hat estates in production environments, shaped around your RHEL versions, server roles, and operations.
Baseline each participant's Linux and system administration experience before module 01 begins.
Core sessions teach RHEL installation, boot, users, and file systems your team applies in guided labs.
Hands-on labs build networking, LVM storage, SELinux, and firewall configurations on live lab systems.
Automate, monitor, and troubleshoot a full RHEL server stack, with instructor feedback on every capstone.
A short pre-training assessment sets each participant's entry level, so the program starts where your team actually is. The rest is weighted toward hands-on practice: guided labs on live RHEL systems, plus a capstone server build your team can present.

Build and Troubleshoot RHEL Servers With Verified Storage, Access, and Service Controls
Edstellar develops Red Hat administration skills through an end-to-end training server build. Participants connect startup behavior, users, filesystems, and networking with storage and security operations. Automation and troubleshooting exercises culminate in a reviewed server, assessed for correct configuration, diagnostic reasoning, and evidence that required services and access behave as intended.
- Step 01
Consult
We review command-line familiarity and server responsibilities to identify gaps in RHEL startup, permissions, network administration, storage management, or interpreting security and service failures.
- Step 02
Plan
We establish installation and systemd before users and filesystems, then networking, LVM and SELinux, package automation, monitoring, and the integrated troubleshooting exercise.
- Step 03
Align
We align RHEL administration expertise with infrastructure and operations roles, confirming suitable lab VMs and the cohort's selected operating-system versions before configuration exercises.
- Step 04
Customize
We adapt sample users, mounted filesystems, and service requirements to familiar server roles, introducing controlled access and storage faults without changing operational infrastructure.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants configure hosts, extend lab volumes, and resolve SELinux denials, receiving feedback on least-privilege access, service behavior, diagnostic evidence, and repeatable package automation.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the server build for verified startup, storage, networking, and access behavior, plus a clear explanation of how faults were diagnosed and corrected.
