Program Overview: What is SUSE Linux?
SUSE Linux is a 24-hour instructor-led program for systems administrators and infrastructure engineers deploying and running SUSE environments. It covers SUSE architecture and installation, YaST administration, storage with LVM and Btrfs snapshots, and user, package, and service management with Zypper. Participants also work through networking, security hardening, monitoring, and high-availability clustering.
The program runs as six sessions of intensive hands-on labs in live SUSE environments. Participants install and configure systems, manage storage and snapshots, administer users and services with Zypper, and harden and tune performance, with an instructor troubleshooting alongside them. SUSE Manager and HA clustering exercises run against realistic enterprise topologies. The final session is the capstone: a full enterprise deployment with patching and recovery procedures, executed in the lab.
Linux teams new to SUSE often carry over habits from other distributions and miss what makes SUSE different: YaST, Btrfs snapshots, SUSE Manager, and enterprise clustering. The program teaches administrators the SUSE-native way of working, from installation through hardening, monitoring, and high availability. They return running SUSE properly: deployments consistent, patches managed, recovery proven.
The capstone is a complete enterprise SUSE deployment built in the lab: installed and configured systems, LVM and Btrfs storage with snapshot policies, Zypper-based package and service management, SUSE Manager registration, hardened security, HA clustering, and documented patching and recovery procedures. Because every step was executed, not just described, participants keep a tested runbook for their own data centers.
Six modules and 24 hours: SLES foundations and YaST, storage with LVM and Btrfs, daily administration with Zypper, networking and hardening, performance tuning and HA clustering, and a capstone enterprise deployment and recovery drill. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each skill is practiced on real systems. Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar.

Onsite Training
The instructor delivers the full program at your site, running labs on your network and hardware where possible. Onsite works well for teams that want to practice against their own estate and change windows.
- Full program delivered at your location
- Labs run against your own SUSE systems
- Direct coaching during hands-on exercises
- Team runbooks drafted during sessions
Live Virtual Training
Live virtual cohorts with the same guided labs, delivered through cloud lab environments. The instructor demos, then each learner builds in their own lab with live troubleshooting support.

Administer SUSE Linux With Tested Recovery and Clear Operational Controls
Edstellar develops SUSE administration through connected host, storage, security, and availability exercises. Participants configure systems, manage packages and snapshots, and examine performance and clustering before rehearsing recovery. A multi-host demonstration is reviewed for consistent administration, interpretable evidence, and a clear account of patching, failover, and restoration decisions.
- Step 01
Consult
We assess Linux familiarity, infrastructure responsibilities, and operational concerns to identify priorities in YaST, storage, Zypper, security, performance, clustering, and recovery.
- Step 02
Plan
SUSE foundations lead into LVM and Btrfs, users and services, networking and hardening, then performance and high availability before an estate-recovery exercise.
- Step 03
Align
SUSE infrastructure expertise supports administrators and DevOps colleagues, connecting distribution-specific tools with their Linux knowledge and responsibility for reliable host operation.
- Step 04
Customize
A sample multi-host estate and controlled workloads provide realistic patch, storage, and failure cases without altering operational servers or exposing system credentials.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants configure storage, test Snapper rollback, and rehearse Pacemaker failover, receiving feedback on consistency, monitoring evidence, performance decisions, and recovery behavior.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the estate demonstration for coherent configuration, tested restoration and failover, appropriate maintenance controls, and operational instructions supported by observed results.
