Program Overview: What is CompTIA A+?
CompTIA A+ is a 24-hour hands-on program for aspiring IT support technicians, helpdesk staff, and anyone preparing for the CompTIA A+ certification. It covers hardware foundations and PC components, operating systems and administration basics, networking and connectivity, system administration tools and monitoring, and security essentials with a troubleshooting method. Every concept is practiced in guided hands-on labs with real tools.
Training runs across six modules with six practice sessions in live lab environments. Participants assemble and configure PC hardware, administer operating systems, set up networking and connectivity, deploy monitoring tools, and apply security essentials to lock systems down. Instructors coach each lab, drilling the troubleshooting method until it becomes reflex. The program closes with a capstone in which participants plan capacity and build out a monitored, secured infrastructure.
Break-fix IT keeps a business running but never gets ahead: tickets pile up, root causes stay mysterious, every outage a fresh surprise. Technicians who guess instead of diagnosing cost hours their teams do not have. This program teaches the disciplined alternative: hardware fluency, systematic administration, monitoring that warns before failure, security basics on every box, and a troubleshooting method that finds the cause instead of the symptom.
The capstone mirrors the job itself: plan capacity and build out a monitored, secured lab environment from bare components. Participants produce a capacity plan with sizing rationale, a built and configured infrastructure, monitoring with working alerts, and security essentials applied throughout, plus a troubleshooting log from the issues they hit along the way. It is the closest thing to a first week on a real support desk: real hardware, real tools, and a method for whatever breaks next.
Across six modules, participants move from hardware and OS foundations through networking and monitoring into a capstone that plans capacity and builds a monitored, secured lab environment. Every concept is practiced in guided hands-on labs with real tools.

Develop IT Support Foundations Through System Builds and Structured Troubleshooting
Edstellar connects hardware and operating-system knowledge with networking, monitoring, and security practice. Participants configure lab systems, diagnose seeded faults, and examine capacity needs before integrating a complete environment. The final review assesses configuration accuracy, troubleshooting reasoning, and whether monitoring and protection choices support the documented infrastructure plan.
- Step 01
Consult
We review computer and networking familiarity to identify gaps in hardware assessment, operating-system administration, connectivity diagnosis, monitoring, and basic security practices.
- Step 02
Plan
We establish hardware foundations before OS setup, networking, and monitoring, then apply troubleshooting and hardening within the capacity-planning and infrastructure capstone.
- Step 03
Align
We align IT support instruction with technician, administration, and operations roles, matching platform examples and foundational support to the cohort's infrastructure priorities.
- Step 04
Customize
We tailor workstation inventories, VM configurations, and seeded network faults to representative support tasks while retaining capacity and secure-baseline exercises.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants install systems, configure accounts and DNS, diagnose faults, and set alerts, receiving feedback on verification steps, root-cause reasoning, and hardening choices.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the capacity plan and lab environment for justified resource decisions, working connectivity, useful monitoring, and evidence of structured troubleshooting and protection.
