Program Overview: What is Looker?
Looker is a 24-hour instructor-led program for analysts, BI developers, and data teams building self-service analytics on Looker. It covers navigation and explores, LookML foundations and advanced modeling, dashboards and insight storytelling, and distribution, alerts, and content governance, taking learners from first explore to governed, production-grade BI delivery.
Most of the program is hands-on inside Looker: learners build explores, write LookML, create derived tables, and assemble dashboards from real business datasets. Guided labs reproduce the analytics requests business teams actually make, and instructors review each model and dashboard for correctness, performance, and clarity. Feedback is continuous and specific. The program closes with the End-to-End Looker Delivery capstone, a full build from data model to published dashboard.
BI tools without disciplined modeling become dashboard sprawl: conflicting numbers, slow explores, and nobody trusting the data. Teams that skip governance drown in untrusted content. This program teaches participants to model data properly in LookML, build dashboards people trust, and govern content so analytics scales.
The End-to-End Looker Delivery capstone has each learner take a business question from raw data to a governed, published Looker solution: modeled in LookML, visualized in dashboards, with alerts and access controls in place. Learners walk away with a live portfolio build that demonstrates production-ready Looker craftsmanship.
Six modules and 24 hours: navigating Looker and Explores, LookML foundations and advanced modeling, dashboard design and insight storytelling, distribution with alerts and governance, and a capstone delivery reviewed with your instructor.

Where this Training Fits in Your Team's learning path.
Looker comes third, after SQL and dbt modelling. LookML reads clean, modelled tables, so your team first learns to query data and then to build tested models with dbt. Once Looker dashboards are live, the final step makes sure their insight is told clearly.
