Program Overview: What is Disability Inclusion and Workplace Accessibility?
Disability Inclusion & Workplace Accessibility is a program for HR teams, managers, and leaders building workplaces where disabled talent thrives. It covers disability models, language, and etiquette, legal frameworks and employer obligations, workplace and digital accessibility audits, reasonable accommodations and the interactive process, and inclusive hiring, onboarding, and talent growth. Participants learn to move from compliance to genuine inclusion.
Training runs as instructor-led sessions across 16 hours, combining inclusion teaching with practical audit and process exercises. Participants conduct accessibility audits, practice the interactive accommodations process, and redesign hiring and onboarding touchpoints. Instructors with disability inclusion experience facilitate every exercise and give direct feedback. The program closes with the Disability Inclusion Action Plan capstone, a concrete plan each participant builds for their own organization.
Most workplaces treat disability inclusion as a policy document: accommodations handled awkwardly, digital tools that exclude, and talented people quietly held back by barriers nobody designed away. Good intentions stall at the first hard conversation. This program teaches teams the practical processes, audits, accommodations, inclusive hiring, that turn inclusion from a statement into how the workplace actually works.
The capstone is the Disability Inclusion Action Plan: a concrete plan for your organization with accessibility audit findings, an accommodations process design, and inclusive hiring and onboarding improvements sequenced for action. Your team returns with a plan they can start executing immediately, and the confidence to have the conversations that make it real.
Sessions blend briefings with role plays and practice scenarios that mirror real HR work: auditing a floor plan, handling an accommodation disclosure, running an accessible interview panel, and drafting a 90-day inclusion action plan. We shape the content around your training needs, keeping the focus on your team's workflows, tools, and compliance context.
