Program Overview: What is VMware Cloud Foundation: Management and Operations?
VMware Cloud Foundation: Management & Operations is Edstellar's instructor-led program for platform engineers and operations teams running VMware Cloud Foundation in production. Participants learn VCF architecture, SDDC Manager lifecycle operations, vSphere and vSAN operations, NSX networking, Aria monitoring, and day-2 operations across a 33-hour curriculum. The focus stays on running the platform well: the discipline that keeps a private cloud healthy.
Training is operations-lab driven. Participants practice lifecycle operations in SDDC Manager, administer vSphere and vSAN estates, and configure NSX segmentation in guided exercises on realistic infrastructure. Instructors coach teams through Aria monitoring and capacity management, patching, and backup drills, with feedback after each exercise. The program closes with a capstone: a full VCF operations drill under pressure.
Day-2 is where VCF estates live or die: upgrades deferred, capacity surprises, and monitoring that nobody reads. This program teaches your team the operational rhythms that prevent drift, with every procedure rehearsed on infrastructure like your own. The learning is deliberately practical: runbooks over theory.
The capstone is a VCF operations drill: teams inherit a live-feeling private cloud and face a sequenced set of operational events, a patch window, a capacity crunch, a security finding, each handled with the runbooks they built during the course. Instructors score the response like an incident review would. What survives is more than muscle memory: a team that has already felt the pressure of a failing estate in a lab, and the documented procedures that made the difference. Operations is a practice, and this drill is the rehearsal that makes it one.
Eight modules and 33 hours: VCF architecture, SDDC Manager lifecycle, vSphere and vSAN, NSX networking, Aria Operations, security controls, day-2 operations, and a capstone. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab. It closes with an operations drill the team plans, executes, and presents.
Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar. Cohorts train as one group or split into batches, with session materials and lab guides included for every participant.

Where this Training Fits in Your Team's learning path.
VMware Cloud Foundation comes after vSphere and NSX because it bundles compute, networking and storage into one managed platform. Once your team runs VCF, Tanzu adds Kubernetes, so the same platform can host containers alongside virtual machines.

Run VCF Operations With Connected Lifecycle, Monitoring, and Recovery Practices
Edstellar develops VMware Cloud Foundation operations through the dependencies across SDDC Manager, compute, storage, networking, and monitoring. Participants manage workload domains, examine controls, and plan patching and recovery. An integrated operations drill tests whether they can interpret alerts, choose coordinated actions, and explain the evidence behind their response.
- Step 01
Consult
We explore platform operations responsibilities and virtualization experience, identifying gaps in workload domains, lifecycle sequencing, storage and network diagnosis, capacity signals, and backup or security routines.
- Step 02
Plan
We establish VCF architecture and SDDC Manager operations, connect vSphere, vSAN, and NSX with Aria monitoring, then integrate security, patching, and recovery in an operations drill.
- Step 03
Align
We align private-cloud operations expertise with infrastructure, network, and security teams, confirming suitable lab resources and clarifying ownership across workload, lifecycle, monitoring, and recovery tasks.
- Step 04
Customize
We adapt sample workload demands, alerts, and maintenance scenarios to familiar private-cloud operations, preserving certificate, upgrade, control, and restore exercises without modifying production infrastructure.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants provision workload domains, plan upgrades, and restore a management component, receiving feedback on dependency sequencing, monitoring evidence, control enforcement, and the verification of recovery results.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the operations drill for accurate alert interpretation, coordinated platform actions, supported security decisions, and documented checks that demonstrate the outcome of maintenance or recovery work.
