Program Overview: What is Hybrid and Multi-Cloud with Google Distributed Cloud (Anthos)?
Hybrid & Multi-Cloud with Google Distributed Cloud (Anthos) is a corporate training program for cloud engineers, platform teams, and architects running workloads across on-premises and cloud. It covers hybrid multi-cloud foundations, fleet onboarding and cluster setup, deploying on Distributed Cloud, service mesh and traffic management, policy and governance, observability, and migration workflows. Participants learn to operate one consistent platform everywhere their workloads run.
The program is delivered as instructor-led, lab-intensive training on real multi-cluster environments. Guided labs have engineers onboard fleets, deploy applications across clusters, configure service mesh routing, and enforce policy controls step by step. Instructors with hybrid cloud experience review every lab across eight practice sessions and troubleshoot alongside teams when clusters misbehave. It ends with a Hybrid Multi-Cluster Build capstone.
Hybrid estates usually grow into a patchwork: different tooling per environment, inconsistent policy, and migrations that stall halfway. Teams spend their time bridging environments instead of shipping. This program teaches the Anthos operating model that makes on-premises and cloud feel like one platform, with the same deployment, policy, and observability everywhere.
The capstone is a Hybrid Multi-Cluster Build: multiple clusters onboarded to a fleet, an application deployed across them with service mesh traffic control, policy and security guardrails enforced, and observability wired in, all demonstrated live and defended before instructors. Engineers leave with a working reference architecture and the runbooks to extend it to production.
Organizations standardize on hybrid platforms to reduce operational risk and move workloads freely. This program deepens that business case: participants practice fleet onboarding, mesh security, and governance controls that keep multi-cloud estates consistent, auditable, and resilient under real-world conditions.
Graduates onboard clusters, deploy and secure services, and troubleshoot across the fleet. Reusable configuration templates and runbooks support day-to-day work, so capability transfers from the lab to production.

Hybrid and Multi-Cloud with Google Distributed Cloud (Anthos) Course Topics and Program Outline
A tailored 33-hour, eight-module workshop: one learning journey from hybrid foundations to a capstone multi-cluster build. Sessions pair concepts with guided labs on distributed clusters. Materials include lab guides and templates, plus a capstone assessment.
Built by Edstellar with hybrid cloud engineers
Built by engineers who run Kubernetes fleets across hybrid estates in production, shaped around your stack and use cases.
A short pre-training assessment maps each participant's Kubernetes and cloud baseline, so instruction starts at the right level.
Instructor-led sessions build fleet concepts, cluster registration, and platform vocabulary before any lab work begins.
Six guided labs take teams from deployment and service mesh to policy enforcement and fleet observability.
Teams migrate a workload and complete a capstone multi-cluster build, reviewed by the instructor for readiness.
From fleet onboarding to a capstone multi-cluster build, every technique is practiced in guided labs.

Key Skills and Outcomes Your Team Will Gain
By the end of the program, your team will be able to operate Google Distributed Cloud as one fleet. Each outcome below is practiced in guided labs and verified in the capstone build.
Operate hybrid fleets
Register, organize, and upgrade Kubernetes clusters across Google Cloud, data centers, and other clouds as one fleet.
Deploy across clusters
Deploy and scale containerized workloads to fleet clusters with GitOps, config sync, and progressive delivery patterns.
Secure services with a mesh
Enforce mTLS, traffic policies, and zero-trust controls between hybrid services using Anthos Service Mesh.
Enforce policy as code
Author and roll out Policy Controller guardrails and image-signing checks, then audit compliance across the whole fleet.
Run fleet observability
Build dashboards, alerts, and SLOs that give one operational view across hybrid and multi-cloud clusters.
Modernize workloads
Plan and execute lift-and-modernize migrations, validating modernized services before cutover to the fleet.
Triage hybrid incidents
Diagnose cross-cluster failures with unified logs and metrics, then restore service using fleet runbooks.
Teams that Benefit from this Hybrid and Multi-Cloud with Google Distributed Cloud (Anthos) Group Training
Built for platform, reliability, security, and development teams that run Kubernetes across hybrid and multi-cloud estates. Content adapts to role and experience, so each cohort practices the workflows it owns, from fleet onboarding to policy enforcement.
One fleet standard across every cluster your team runs.
Platform engineers learn to onboard clusters, standardize configuration, and enforce mesh policies, so hybrid estates run with one operating model.
Workflow friction
- Clusters drift across on-prem and cloud
- Inconsistent access and policy controls
- Manual rollout of config changes
How the program helps
- Fleet onboarding and registration workflows
- Centralized policy and config management
- Automated, audited change propagation
Practice use cases
- Cluster registration labs
- Config sync practice
- Mesh policy drills
- Fleet upgrades
Faster incident response across hybrid estates.
SREs practice unified observability, alerting, and troubleshooting across distributed clusters, cutting mean time to recovery.
Workflow friction
- Blind spots across hybrid monitoring
- Slow cross-cluster incident triage
- Alert fatigue from siloed tools
How the program helps
- Unified dashboards and SLOs
- Cross-cluster troubleshooting runbooks
- Standardized alerting pipelines
Practice use cases
- Monitoring lab builds
- Alert tuning practice
- Incident simulation drills
Consistent guardrails on every workload.
Security teams author and enforce policy as code, verify image provenance, and audit fleet compliance from one control plane.
Workflow friction
- Policy gaps between environments
- Unverified container images in prod
- Slow compliance evidence gathering
How the program helps
- Policy Controller guardrails
- Binary Authorization checks
- Fleet-wide audit reporting
Practice use cases
- Policy authoring labs
- Image signing practice
- Audit evidence drills
Ship services that run anywhere.
Developers learn to build, package, and deploy services once, then run them consistently across cloud and on-prem clusters.
Workflow friction
- Environment-specific deployment scripts
- Networking differences per cluster
- Hard to test multi-cluster behavior
How the program helps
- Standard deployment pipelines
- Portable service configurations
- Local-to-fleet testing workflows
Practice use cases
- Deployment pipeline labs
- Service mesh practice
- Canary release drills
Each cohort works through role-relevant labs, then leaves with reusable patterns for day-to-day operations.
Prerequisites: Platform engineers, SREs, and developers with basic Kubernetes and container concepts benefit most. Familiarity with Google Cloud or another cloud provider helps but is not required; we calibrate examples and lab depth to each cohort's tools, cluster estate, and experience.
Cloud Engineer to Hybrid Cloud Specialist
Six skill rows move from Foundation to Very Advanced as the modules deepen: fleet onboarding leads, GitOps deployment, mesh security, policy enforcement, observability, and migration planning. Capstone-level skills reach Very Advanced only where the final build practices them.
One program that grows with platform careers, from fleet basics to confident hybrid operations.
Mixed cohort, or several teams at once?
We can tailor the training to different teams, roles, and experience levels within the same program.
Certificate of Training Completion.
On successful completion, employees receive an Edstellar course completion certificate, recognizing their commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. It validates the skills they have built and motivates them to keep growing and contribute to organizational success.

Where this Training Fits in Your Team's learning path.
Anthos assumes your team already knows Google Cloud and Kubernetes. With both in place, this course extends GKE-style management to on-premises and other clouds. A service mesh with Istio or Cilium follows, giving consistent traffic control and security across those hybrid clusters.
