Program Overview: What is Lean Management and Value Stream Improvement?
Lean Management & Value Stream Improvement is an instructor-led program that teaches your team how lean management turns chaotic workflows into predictable delivery. Your team learns lean thinking and the eight wastes, current-state value stream mapping, flow and takt time, 5S and workplace organization, pull systems and kanban, and future-state design. The content is shaped around your training needs, keeping the focus on your processes and delivery challenges, closing with a capstone improvement project.
Training begins with lean thinking, then moves into mapping a current-state value stream from the team's own work. Instructors coach flow and takt time calculations, lead gemba walks and 5S exercises, and run pull system and kanban labs with real work items. Every lab gets hands-on instructor feedback, and future-state design is drafted with coaching at each step. The program ends with a capstone where teams design and present their value stream improvement project.
Chaotic workflows hide their costs: work waits, priorities thrash, and teams feel busy while delivery slips. Management by urgency becomes the norm. This program makes the invisible visible, mapping the stream so the team can see where value stops and waste starts, and redesigning the flow so delivery becomes steady and predictable.
The capstone is a value stream improvement project for a real workflow the team owns. It includes the current-state map with quantified waste, the future-state design with takt, flow, and pull mechanics, the 5S and kanban implementation steps, and the expected delivery gains. Presented to the cohort and refined with instructor feedback, the project goes back as an implementation plan, the document the team follows to turn the classroom map into a workflow that actually delivers.
Six modules and 24 hours: lean foundations, current-state mapping, flow and takt time, 5S and gemba, pull systems, and a capstone improvement project. Every module pairs concepts with a guided lab, so each technique is practiced on your real workflows. It closes with a capstone your team designs.
Delivery is hybrid across virtual and onsite sessions, scheduled around your calendar. Cohorts train as one group or split into batches, with workbooks and mapping templates included for every attendee.

Spot the eight wastes in delivery work and trace each one back to lost time and rework.
Current-State VSM Drafting
Draw accurate current-state maps with process times, lead times, and wait states clearly marked.
5S Audits & Gemba Walk Practice
Run 5S audits and structured gemba walks that surface waste where work actually happens.
Takt Time & Line Balancing
Calculate takt time from demand and rebalance stages so work flows without bottlenecks.
