Program Overview: What is SAP ERP - Production Planning?
SAP ERP - Production Planning is Edstellar's instructor-led program for planners, production managers, and SAP teams running the PP module. It covers planning foundations, demand management, MRP execution, production orders and shop floor execution, and capacity planning with integration. Participants learn to run the full manufacturing planning cycle inside SAP.
Training is hands-on from the first module, with guided labs in a live SAP PP environment. Participants build master data, run demand management and MRP, release production orders, and execute shop floor confirmations. Instructors coach on planning discipline, correcting the master data errors that derail MRP runs. The final five and a half hours are a capstone: drive a complete end-to-end planning cycle.
Plants that plan outside SAP live with stockouts, overstocks, and expedited orders nobody can explain. MRP is only as good as the master data feeding it. This program teaches teams to plan inside the system: clean master data, disciplined demand management, and MRP runs that produce executable schedules.
The capstone is a full End-to-End Planning Cycle: your team takes demand, runs MRP, converts planned orders, releases production orders, confirms shop floor execution, and checks capacity along the way. Instructors grade the cycle on the planning accuracy metrics plants actually use, and the team leaves with the master data templates and planning procedures they built.
The program starts with plants, planning areas, and the master data that drives PP, then moves into demand management and MRP configuration. From there your team practices MRP execution, planned order conversion, and production order processing with confirmations and goods movements. Later modules cover capacity planning and leveling, repetitive manufacturing, integration with MM and SD, and period-end closing for production. The capstone asks each team to run an end-to-end planning cycle in a practice system, from demand to MRP to order completion, and present the results to stakeholders.

Where this Training Fits in Your Team's learning path.
Production planning in SAP comes after materials management, because production orders consume the materials and stock that MM controls. Once your team plans and runs production, the path adds quality inspection on the shop floor and then moves to SAP IBP for longer-range supply planning.
