Program Overview: What is Frontline and Team Leadership?
Frontline & Team Leadership is Edstellar's instructor-led program for new and emerging leaders running frontline teams. Participants learn to own the frontline leader's role, coach through daily check-ins, and handle feedback, performance, and difficult conversations. The program closes with a personal team improvement action plan in the capstone.
Training is scenario-driven across five modules. Participants practice coaching conversations, deliver feedback in role plays, and make shift-level decisions under change in guided sessions. Instructors with leadership experience debrief every exercise, coaching new leaders on the judgment calls that define frontline credibility. The final module is the capstone: build your team improvement action plan and present it in review.
New frontline leaders usually get promoted for doing the work, not leading it: they avoid hard conversations, manage by firefighting, and lose good people to neglect. Without leadership basics, strong individual contributors become struggling managers. This program teaches your new leaders to coach daily, give feedback that lands, and lead change on the floor with confidence.
The capstone is the Team Improvement Action Plan. Each participant diagnoses their own team's gaps, then commits to specific coaching, feedback, and decision-making actions with timelines, defended in front of reviewers. They return to their teams with a plan already in motion, leading from day one instead of learning by trial and error.
The program covers five areas: the frontline leader's role and daily operating rhythm, team coaching and check-ins, feedback and performance conversations, change leadership and decision frameworks, and a capstone where each participant builds a team improvement action plan for their own crew.

Frontline and Team Leadership Course Topics and Program Outline
Five instructor-led modules, from owning the frontline role to a team improvement action plan capstone, built around the situations frontline leaders face every day.
Built by Edstellar with experienced frontline leaders
Built by practicing frontline and operations leaders who have run shifts and crews themselves, shaped around your supervisors’ real challenges.
We map each frontline leader’s starting point, from running shifts to coaching, so every session targets their real gaps.
The frontline essentials are taught live: the leadership role, daily rhythm, check-ins, and the shift from peer to leader.
Case clinics and peer circles turn essentials into skill, as leaders rehearse feedback and change conversations in a safe setting.
Each leader builds a team improvement action plan for their own crew and presents it for instructor feedback in the capstone.
Built around your frontline leaders’ real daily situations, not theory.

- Step 01
Consult
We explore difficulties leading daily work, coaching crew members, and handling performance conversations, establishing participants' shift responsibilities and current team-management routines.
- Step 02
Plan
Role clarity and daily operating rhythms lead into check-ins, coaching, difficult conversations, and change decisions before the team improvement action plan.
- Step 03
Align
We align frontline leadership facilitation with supervisor and shift-lead responsibilities, using practical crew situations and allowing space for both experienced and first-time leaders.
- Step 04
Customize
Anonymized crew challenges and fictional performance conversations reflect familiar operating pressures, enabling candid practice without naming colleagues or exposing sensitive team matters.
- Step 05
Execute
Participants rehearse coaching and feedback, design check-in routines, and discuss shift decisions, receiving feedback on listening, fair expectations, and communication through change.
- Step 06
Evaluate
We assess the improvement plan and practiced conversations for clear team priorities, workable leadership routines, respectful accountability, and actions linked to the diagnosed challenges.
